Tomorrow the 2009 BC Christmas party is occuring. The participants consists of a mixture of experienced hands and novices. It will be the first for the investment boys Jonny, George and Twiggy and Frixos is back for a guest appearence to prove that last years slip ups were only a blip.
In truth expectations are low. NF is in charge this year and we seem destined to be disappointed. His theme seems to consist of maintaining all activities within a single block of the office. I think he gave the restaurant 24 hrs notice and the fact they can accommodate 10 suggests they will not be found on page 1 of the Square Meal.
Entertainment is to be provided in the form of an action packed quiz ‘Graduate challenge’. Gary vs Matt is hardly Hatton vs Khan however its the best we can do within the geographical restrictions of the day. I think Gary might be odds on favorite with Matt experiencing his first SAS party this evening.
It’s bound to underwhelm after the the screaming success of 2008…

In the office...

Morning all, firstly a brief introduction.
My names Flavio and I run a highly successful retail emporium in Burnt Oak, NW1. Cash only and not much in the way of a refund policy, I believe a punter should benefit from the inspiring Robbie Williams performance in Dead Poet Society – Carpe Dium – ‘Buyer Beware’.
Its a family business and so far the family consists of a little daughter of only 2 months. One day my four walls, the 19 water damaged Panasonic TV’s, 5,350 stained carpet tiles going at 90p a pop, 2 full sofa suites and 13 staff will be hers.
Anyway I’ve known the boys at BC for a few years now. Ok fine they seem to know their way around a few high streets and shopping centres but to my mind its only when you can get rid of 14 ‘real flicker flame’ electric fires during the Wimbledon fortnight is when you can call yourself a Retailer.
I’ll be offering my views over the course of next year of what it’s really like on the shop floor in the post-crunch world we now live in.
Keeping it real
